clarion call

Strangers in our homeland
Forfeiture of our birth rights
We do not know these things
That most don't feel nor comprehend the gist
That many would hear but not understand the loss
Nigeria Wake up
For we are lost
From slaves to giants we emerged
But now our figures are forged
Forging ahead in failure
Embracing darkness with delight
Such wasted potential
Such poverty in morals
We settle for grass
When inherently we are capable of making trees
Settling for a life less than the one we are capable of living
Lost are the virtues of sacrifice and love
In the dust have we left our true essence
Leaders putting our nation in chains
Parading her as free and democratic
Lies, all lies
"For to be free is not merely to cast off one's chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others".
Can the gods hear our cries
Can death banish these cowards
They insist on setting us ablaze
They succeed in putting us all in a maze
Now our daughters too have become their slaves
Now our daughters too have been taken away
Can these beats, these scoundrels bring back our girls ?
Can effort be more than a committee of glutton cows
Nigeria wake up
Your soul is lost
And your heroes 'cowardiced'
"There can be no keener revelation of a society's  soul than the way in which it treats its children"
This treatment is not bona fide
This treatment lacks emotions
 Of authenticity and concern
We hope for reality in the crocodile tears shed for press and the masses
You claimed to love us, how then would you scramble the solution put in your hands
How then would you deny mothers the joy of their motherhood
Manifestos filled with pregnant promises
Actions full of irony and passionless patriotism
Nigeria wake up
Your people are being crushed by alien states men
Your riches guarded by heartless dragons

Mountains and hills made low by corruption
And in these pits we still experience volcanic eruptions
War is for seen
We used to be united in our diversity
A different people with common love for a common thing
Now we are different people with different emotions
Trading love and hate
Striving to be great by killing our own flesh n blood
Success and failure have become mates for the soul of our country is in deep sleep
Nigeria wake up.

Im backkkk

In as much as it's been ages, nothings changed bout the way I feel about blogging, I personally admire Linda Ikeji and her constance, I can't be blamed tho #lawchick. Permit me to digress a bit frm class, fashion nd gossip as I share a little something I wrote, hope everybody adores originality like I do anyway here goes :

Doctrine of 'vaali'

Sitting here on the edge of a snowy iced wall,
Wondering which way down to the path
Of sweet warm summer.
Sitting here on the edge of a snow iced wall,
Observing the opposite paths
Standing as the inevitable options to my query for warmth.

Beautiful red roses endowed with greenest leaves,
Grow strongly on the right
But below I behold a world engulfed by fog
Enshrouding every corner like smoke from a powerful flame.
The left a little brighter
I see the birds flying, the trees healthy and earth sandy,
But that which tumbles my head is seeing it's walls covered in the same snow and cold from which I strive to escape.
Two ways like two roads, to choose but one, the other must be forgotten...
And I stand alone with a tribe of fools the discerner.
Tis no wish of man to start an endless journey,
Tis not my wish to attain the peak adorned with regrets.
The argument of the wise do not premise assumptions nor bewed ironies;
How then does a winter striken wall beget summer beneath
And a summer bitten side beget winter below.
These views diverge in my mind
But I shall indulge the greater view
Endure the shivers of winter for summer shall shower thy frozen toes with heat.
After rain comes sunshine,
So down the snowy wall we go
If at the end of our climb (down)
We meet a betrayal of our view;
Tis only a risk taken as decision.
We may fail and fall into a world of chaos
Like a gaping pit waiting to swallow us all
But we must realise that chaos is not a pit;
Chaos is a ladder,
many who try to climb it fall
And they never try again
As dried wood it breaks them
The few who recover from their falls,
Are able to reach the top of the ladder,
And the view revels that solution is just the same steps away.
If we take this risk today,we verify if it's really a risk or the grasp of a glaring opportunity.
For how do we know it's a risk if it hasn't been taken?
For what's life without risks being taken?.

                                                                                                  By yours truly
